TOPIC:AUDITORY SEEKERS
* Definition:Auditory seekers are desensitized to sounds in their environment and crave sensory stimulation via loud or repetitive noises. Seekers may seem to need constant stimulation. However, they tend to become more deregulated as they take in more input.
*What are the activities for auditory sensation?
Play the sound of a cat's meow and ask the learner to point to the sound he just heard.) Purpose: This activity helps to develop patience and consciousness in the learner. Also, to improve sensitivity to sound as well as perception of non-speech sounds.
*What are the exercises for auditory processing?
1. Practice Sequencing with Sounds
*Whistling.
*Snapping fingers.
*Sharpening a pencil.
*Hammering.
*Tearing paper.
*Slamming a book closed.
*Ringing a bell.
*Blowing a whistle.
*What are the four tasks of the auditory system?
The tasks of the auditory system include gathering sounds from the environment around us, sending vibrations down the ear canal, converting the vibrations into electrical signals and sending those signals to the brain. Sounds are vibrations, or waves of energy that travel through a medium such as the air.
*What are auditory memory activities?
Place a number of objects on a tray and get your child to name aloud all of the objects. Then place a cloth over them and remove an item without your child seeing it. Uncover the tray and get your child to tell you which object is missing. You may want to start with only 2 objects and then increase this to 3, 4, 5 etc.
*What are the 4 types of auditory training?
Auditory training is provided generally one on one basis which revolves around the various auditory skills viz. comprehension, detection, identification, and discrimination. It is done using a range of stimuli like words, phrases, and sentences.
