Published

Collab topic: Adhd in children causes and symptoms

Adult attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a mental illness characterized by a mix of enduring issues, including impulsive conduct, hyperactivity, and trouble focusing.

While some adults with ADHD continue to have severe symptoms that interfere with day-to-day functioning, others with the disorder experience fewer symptoms as they get older. The primary symptoms of ADHD in adults can include restlessness, impulsivity, and trouble paying focus. Mild to severe symptoms are possible.

The following are possible adult symptoms of ADHD:
* Impulsivity;
* Disorganisation and difficulty setting priorities;
* Poor time management abilities;
* Difficulty focusing on a task;
* Difficulty multitasking;
* Excessive activity or restlessness;
* Poor planning;
* Low frustration tolerance;
* Frequent mood swings;
* Difficulty following through and finishing tasks;
* Short temper;
* Difficulty managing stress.

CAUSES

Even though the precise origin of ADHD is unknown, research is still being done.
 * Genetics is one factor that may have a role in the development of ADHD. Genes may be involved in ADHD, as studies show that the disorder can run in families.
* The surroundings. Risk may also be increased by some environmental conditions, such as childhood exposure to lead.
* Issues that arise throughout development. Central nervous system issues throughout critical junctures in development could be involved.
