Cerebral paralysis, the most prevalent nonage physical impairment, is caused by brain injury before birth or during infancy. Cerebral paralysis patients may experience neurological and musculoskeletal issues that compromise posture, sensory comprehension, communication, mobility, and other processes.
What Should You Know?
Cerebral paralysis can result from brain injuries before, during, or after birth. Cerebral paralysis symptoms are typically initially detected in infants and toddlers. Almost half of the children with cerebral bonhomous develop hypertonia (excessive muscle pressure) or spasticity (excessive muscle pressure with increased tendon revulsions). Cerebral paralysis currently has no cure, however treatment can address associated neurologic, orthopedic, and medical issues.
