Sensory integration dysfunction

Sensory processing disorder is a condition in which the brain has trouble receiving and responding to information that comes in through the senses. Formerly referred to as sensory integration dysfunction, it is not currently recognized as a distinct medical diagnosis.
Causes :
-Having been understimulated or institutionalized during crucial periods of neurological development.
-Being exposed to drugs while in utero.
-Having food allergies.
-Having certain developmental delays or neurological disorders.
Symptoms:
Impaired coordination.
Bumping into things.
Overly sensitive to, or incapable of sensing, touch.
Abnormally high or low pain threshold.
Fine and/or gross motor delays.
Avoids eating certain foods due to texture or consistency.
