unusual behaviours in adhd
These are some of the often disregarded symptoms of ADHD, including those that come as a surprise or even seem to contradict the diagnosis.
Indications of ADHD
1. Up until a significant life shift, your work and family were unaffected by your enduring attention, restlessness, and impatience issues.
Even if you did not receive a childhood diagnosis for ADHD, you may still have it today. A major life event, such as establishing a family, getting married, or getting your first job, might cause well-honed coping mechanisms that keep symptoms of poor focus, hyperactivity, and impulsivity under control.
2. You have times of low motivation and indecision rather than being energetic or impulsive.
There is a continuum for ADHD, and it manifests as a variety of symptoms. Three subtypes of ADHD are identified by the DSM-V: mixed, primarily hyperactive, and mainly inattentive.
3. Sometimes you can focus too much.
"ADHD" is not what it seems. It is more accurately described as a disorder of uneven attention than an inattentional disorder. Depending on how interested a person is in an activity, attention varies.
You have trouble controlling your emotions, and you alternate between feeling too much and not enough.
When someone with ADHD is identified, whether in childhood or later in adulthood, they are more likely to encounter criticism over their actions and symptoms.
