Updated: 2026-10-05

Your child’s self-sufficient, mainstream-included life is the purpose from the beginning. Everyday Therapy™ helps carry an agreed step into the moments your family already shares—with professional guidance, your observations and a plan that can change.

## What Everyday Therapy does
Everyday Therapy™ is the PinnacleAI® workflow for professionally selected, goal-linked practice in ordinary routines. Families try an agreed activity, share what the child did and what support helped, and bring those observations back to the professional for review.
A useful skill has somewhere to go: into a choice, a shared game, getting ready or taking part at home and school. We connect the activity with that purpose, so your family understands why this step matters.

## Familiar moments
- **At the family table:** Take a manageable part in getting ready together: a familiar object, an accessible place and an agreed way to help.
- **In a favourite game:** Make room for a choice, a request or a turn in something your child enjoys.
- **While getting ready:** Explore one useful part of a familiar routine with the support the professional has demonstrated.
- **Between home and school:** Share what works with the relevant teacher or caregiver, so the same purpose can guide support in another setting.

## Guidance, practice and review
1. **Agree on one useful step:** Choose a meaningful goal with the professional. Understand the activity, its purpose, the support and when to stop.
2. **Try it in a familiar moment:** Offer a manageable opportunity that fits your routine. Follow the agreed guidance and your child’s willingness to take part.
3. **Notice what actually happens:** Describe the child’s action, the help used and the setting. An activity that did not fit is useful information too.
4. **Use the observation to adapt:** The professional reviews what to keep, change, pause or revisit. Your family should understand the next decision.

## “My child wants to be part of getting the table ready.”
An illustrative participation example: a four-year-old chooses a familiar spoon. The aim is helping prepare the table—not a feeding or swallowing exercise, and not a reported patient outcome.
1. **Start with belonging:** The family wants the child to take a small, enjoyable part in a routine they share. The professional and parent discuss placing a familiar spoon on the child’s placemat as one possible step.
2. **See the support before trying:** The professional demonstrates an accessible position for the object and the agreed cue. The parent can ask for another demonstration and explain what is practical at home.
3. **Offer an opportunity, not a test:** During a calm moment of table preparation, the family offers the agreed step. The child can choose to join or stop. Comfort and willingness guide whether the moment continues.
4. **Bring back a useful observation:** The parent notes: “The spoon was close to the placemat. With one gesture, my child placed it there and stayed to help. When the room became noisy, my child moved away.”

## A specific family observation
- What my child did: Placed the spoon on the placemat.
- What helped: One familiar gesture; spoon within comfortable reach.
- What changed around us: Joined during quiet preparation; moved away when the room became busy.

## The review changes something specific
### What the family notices
The child joins comfortably with one familiar gesture.
**What the team changes:** Keep the meaningful goal and useful support. The professional may demonstrate a smaller cue if appropriate, rather than adding several new tasks.
**What to check next:** Does the child still choose to join, and what help makes the step possible?
### What the family notices
The same step stops working when table preparation becomes noisy.
**What the team changes:** Review the setting and timing. The team may try a quieter preparation moment, choose another routine or pause the activity.
**What to check next:** Does the changed setting make participation comfortable and useful for the child and family?

## Your family’s part
- **Why this activity?** Ask which everyday goal it serves and what the professional wants to understand from trying it.
- **Can you show us?** Ask for a demonstration, the right level of support and the signs that mean stop or ask for help.
- **Can this fit our day?** Explain your time, setting, languages and family responsibilities. Agree on a manageable opportunity.
- **What should we bring back?** Agree how to share the child’s action, support, comfort and context—and when the team will review them.

## Programme versions and cadence
The March 2026 Technical Monograph v3.0, page 3, describes 7–9 techniques per domain delivered four days ahead, with families implementing three daily. A September handout describes the cadence differently. These are versioned documents, not a universal prescription: ask which current plan, activity, timing and review apply to your child. The receiving professional should explain these before you begin.

## Questions
### What is Everyday Therapy™?
Everyday Therapy is PinnacleAI’s workflow for professionally selected, goal-linked practice in ordinary routines. Families try an agreed activity, share what the child did and what support helped, and bring those observations back to the professional for review.
### Is this more homework for parents?
The aim is a manageable opportunity within family life. Tell the team what is practical, what your child enjoys and where support is needed. Ask for a clear purpose and demonstration, and agree how the activity and review will fit your routine.
### How do we know which activity to try?
The appropriate professional selects and explains a goal-linked activity using the child’s assessed abilities, plan and family context. Ask why it was chosen, how to offer support, what to notice and when to stop or seek further guidance.
### What if my child does not want to take part?
Respect the child’s choice and comfort. Pause the activity and share what happened, including the setting and support used. The professional can help decide whether to change the activity, cue, environment or timing, or choose a different routine.
### Does every family follow the same daily schedule?
No universal schedule is prescribed on this page. Published PinnacleAI documents describe particular programme versions and cadences. Confirm the current activities, timing, support and review with your child’s professional, based on the plan and what is practical for your family.
### How do family observations change the plan?
Describe what the child did, the help used and the context. The professional considers these observations with the wider plan and may keep useful support, change a cue or setting, select another activity, pause or reassess. Ask what changed and why.
### Can teachers and other caregivers take part?
Discuss that with the professional and the people involved. Where appropriate, the same meaningful goal and agreed support can be explained to a teacher or caregiver, with clear responsibilities and a way to share observations across settings.
